“Italian culture is so deeply soaked in an appreciation of the good things in life.” – Mariska Hargitay

Further up the coast is the shining gem of Polignano a Mare, which wonderfully translates to ‘the Paradise is on Earth’. This stunning seaside town couldn’t live up to its name more, with 20metre-high limestone cliffs rising out of the crystal-clear waters it is an enchanting must see when in the region of Puglia. Similarly to Monopoli the winding streets of beautiful white washed architecture and ancient churches are enough to take your breath away. Stories in abundance, the Vicolo della Poesia is considered some-what of a poetry corner, your feet will eventually lead you there whilst out wandering and boasts the famous poetry steps. Getting lost here is one of our favourite things to do, with inspiration in abundance, the sounds, smells and natural beauty entices any lucky visitor back, time and time again to discover a new slice of Paradise.
